Mission Statement and Employee Welcome Message

Mission Statement: The purpose of the Institute for Medical Research, Inc. is to facilitate and promote research and education at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Welcome!

We believe that each employee contributes directly to IMR's growth and success and we hope you will take pride in being a member of our team.

This handbook was designed to acquaint you with IMR and provide you with information about working conditions, employee benefits and other policies affecting your employment. You should familiarize yourself with the contents of this handbook, for it will answer many questions about employment with IMR.

No employee handbook can anticipate every circumstance or question, therefore, IMR reserves the right to revise, supplement or rescind any policies or portions of the handbook from time to time as is deemed appropriate by management. Employees will be notified of changes to the handbook as they occur. Nothing in these policies is intended or should be construed as a contract of employment, either expressed or implied.

If you have any questions please stop by our office, located at A2005 in the main hospital. We look forward to working with you and hope your experience here will be challenging and rewarding - welcome aboard!

Sincerely,

Lorie Moll
Executive Director
